Android x86 is an Android port to the Intel x86
microprocessor family. The project was
originally
a set of patches to the Android source code but
has now become separate. Its main goal was to
have complete support on the ASUS Eee PC,
then to work on compatibility with other
netbooks and
UMPCs. The current project maintainers are
Chih-Wei Huang and Yi Sun. As of July 2011, its
latest release is 2.2.
